I’ve always loved making things, and as I grew older it became clear that in pursuing a design career I could combine all my interests and continue to create exciting things that change others’ lives for the better. For the last year or so I’ve been freelancing as Bell Design Co, working on branding & UI projects for local small businesses. I also dabble in photography on the side, just for fun.
Who inspires you as a designer?
I’m hugely inspired by the design studios Carpenter
Collective, Invisible Creature and Grain & Mortar, and of course Aaron Draplin. I also love Jon Contino’s hand made branding approach.
Describe your creative process in one sentence.
Get the brief, think for a million years, visualise those
thoughts in my sketchbook, actually make the thing, and hopefully get the project done in less than three revisions
What are your go-to fonts?
Right now, my go-to sans is Neuzeit Grotesk, and I’m loving a quirky serif called Dolly. I’m also fairly sure three-quarters of everything I’ve ever made uses Proxima Nova somewhere or other…
